The Project
From closed and datedto open and intentional.
The existing kitchen had served the home for decades: closed off from the living area, short on storage, and lit by a single ceiling fixture.
The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt connected to the rest of the house, with room for two people to cook and a place for family to gather.
The Challenge
What needed to change.
The layout worked against the way the family actually used the room. Storage was scattered, the work surface was broken up, and the space felt darker than the rest of the home.

The Design
The direction.
The design opens the kitchen toward the living area and organizes it around a single island. Full-height cabinetry consolidates storage along one wall, so the rest of the room can stay calm.
Warm wood, soft white stone and integrated lighting keep the palette quiet, while the island becomes the room's focal point.
